Investigate the fault

Fixing a malfunction tailored to a house

In the event of a camera malfunction in your home, the first question is what exactly went wrong. No image on a phone, one offline camera, and missing recordings have several possible causes. Note what still works and when the problem started. This allows a technician to investigate more effectively without unnecessarily losing usable settings or images.

What we check and deliver

  • Save the error message and time.
  • Compare the working on phone and recorder.
  • Note recent changes in the house.
  • Distinguishing recording problems from live image.
  • Test the original complaint after recovery again.
01

Make the complaint controllable

Note the error message, the affected channel, and the time when the problem was observed. Test where possible whether the image on the recorder is visible. If a phone does not work, then compare it with another allowed viewing device. Do not remove the camera connection yet: the existing situation contains information about where the error occurs.

02

Link the beginning to changes in the house

Think of a new router, work on the exterior, a power outage, or a replaced phone. Note those events without pointing out a specific cause. A change can affect the network, the power supply, or only the control. Also let the technician know whether the problem continues to occur or, for example, only after it gets dark.

03

Determine whether one channel or the entire installation has been affected

When one camera is missing, you investigate a different route than with a recorder that is completely unreachable. Check visible power and connections from a safe location. Do not disconnect all cables at once; this will eliminate the distinction between an existing problem and a new connection problem. Leave damaged or wet electrical components untouched and assess them.

04

Treat missing recording separately

Live view without retrievable images requires control over date, recording schedule, and storage. First, search around a known time and check whether other channels have recording there. A reset does not automatically recover lost images and can erase settings. If important incident images may still be present, report that before recovery actions begin on the recorder or disk.

05

Perform recovery with a repeatable trial

Record which setting, connection, or component is being changed. Then check the original complaint on the same device under similar conditions. A malfunction that occurred only in low-light conditions has not been proven resolved by a short live image during the day. When encountering an irregular error, agree on which observation is needed to assess the result.

06

Give the resident a clear outcome

Note what has been shown as the cause, what action was performed, and what uncertainty remains. Open a recent recording and check the normal app interface. Indicate which error message or time should be reported repeatedly. A temporary restart and a proven repair should be considered different outcomes in the work report.

Our process

From the reported fault to a verified repair.

  1. 1

    Assess

privacy around neighbors and public space

  2. 2

    Carry out

We collect error images and system data remotely; on site we measure and test further in a targeted manner.

  3. 3

    Hand over

The fault will be repaired or you will receive a substantiated replacement advice if repair is not worthwhile.

Clear answers

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to reset the camera immediately?

Not as the first step. Save the error information and check what still works. A reset can remove settings and makes the original situation harder to investigate.

Why do I have a picture at home but not on the way?

This indicates a difference between local access and remote viewing. Check the connection and access for that use; it does not in itself prove a defective camera.

Is the malfunction resolved as soon as the camera is back online?

Not yet demonstrable. Also check the recording and repeat the circumstances in which the error occurred. In irregular failures, additional observation may be required.

What should I inform the technician in advance?

Model details, error message, involved channels, start date and recent changes help. Also indicate whether there are important recordings that should be retained.
