How do I connect a security camera?

Connect a fixed IP camera preferably with one network cable to a PoE port on the NVR or PoE switch. That cable provides power and network. Initialize the camera with a new password, add it to the recorder and test video, recording and alerts before you complete the installation.

• Determine viewing angle, mounting height and privacy boundary before you drill.
• Connect the NVR to a screen, mouse and the router.
• Connect the camera with a suitable network cable to a PoE port.
• Initialize recorder and camera with a new, unique administrator password.
• Check date, time, storage, recording plan and detection zones.
• Test live image and look back during the day, at night and via the mobile app.

Connect camera to your phone

Install the official app that comes with your recorder and add the device via the QR code or the serial number. Never share the administrator password with other users: create separate accounts or shared access where possible. Also test it using mobile data, so you know that viewing outside your own network works.

Check safety and privacy

• Do not use a factory or reused password and enable two-factor authentication if available.
• Aim the camera so that the public road and neighbors' property are shown as little as possible in the picture.
• Set only necessary detection zones, alerts and storage periods.
• Update the firmware and app via the official supplier.
