IP Camera manual with connecting without NVR

To be able to receive the images from a Dahua IP camera on your computer and via the app, you must first go through a few steps. In this guide, these settings are explained step by step. The default username and the default password of the Dahua camera are ‘admin’. So you enter username admin and also enter password admin.

Step-by-step guide for Dahua IP Camera Installatie:

In this manual, we will guide you in setting up, configuring, and using Dahua's ConfigTool. With the ConfigTool, you can easily change Dahua (OEM) network items' settings from your PC or Mac.

Standard IP Address: IP cameras are set to the standard iPad address 192.168.1.108

Download on your computer: Download the ConfigTool via our website. The software is available for both Windows and Mac. Important!: This is a program for a desktop computer or laptop, so it is not usable for a smartphone or tablet.

Check, before you start the program, that your device is connected to your network via an UTP cable. Important: Always connect the device directly to a router! Never to a Wi-Fi/signal booster (such as a Ziggo/KPN WiFi booster).

1: As soon as you open the app, you will see a number of buttons and menus. For now, it is important that you look in the list to see if your camera is visible.

Once you press the refresh button, your device will appear in your list in a gray color.

1A: Is your camera not in the list? First, check whether the camera is powered (adapter). Then, verify that the camera is directly connected to your router via an UTP cable. Press the reset button again.

1B: Is your camera in the list, but is it black-colored? Then press the camera's reset button. For a bullet camera, the button is located next to the SD card slot. For a dome camera, you must first loosen the casing screws, after which you need to press a small black button. Hold the reset button pressed for about 12 to 20 seconds. You can also watch for any LEDs that will light up red if the reset has been initiated. Wait until the light turns blue. Then press the reset button again.

2: You can now see the camera gray-colored in the list. Before you proceed with setting up the camera, first press the “Search Settings” button in the top right corner of the screen, you will now see a window with a number of data.

Start IP: 192.168.1.1 End IP: 192.168.1.255

You do not need to change these details. This is the standard start and end IP address.

Username: admin Password: ****

Both the username and the password must be admin, before the camera is initialized. If these values are different, change them to admin. After that, press OK and then again press the refresh button.

3: You can now initialize the camera. First, select the camera by clicking the checkmark box. Then press the “Initialize” button.

4: You will see a screen showing the selected cameras that will be initialized. Note!: Make sure your camera is directly connected to your router with an UTP cable. Press Initialize again.

5: In this screen, you can, among other things, enter a password and email address. Password: Enter a desired password here. It must contain between 8 and 32 characters and at least two types, which can be numbers, letters, and special characters. Confirm Password: Enter your password again. Email Address: To make resetting a password easier, you can enter a desired email address here. This is optional, and you can skip it by checking the checkbox. After that, press the next button. You can leave P/N selected on Pal or P. This is only for the video standard.

6: In this screen you will see a number of options to check or uncheck. You don't need to change anything here. Press OK.

7: You will see a screen that indicates whether the camera has been initialized. You can easily check this by seeing if there is a green checkmark next to the camera. Press Finish.

7A: Is there a warning triangle? Then check the error message and verify “Operation Result” and forward this to info@ipcamerainstallatie.com so that we can assist you with this.

8: The camera has now been initialized and only needs an IP address. Before entering this, first press “Search Settings”. In the Password field, enter the password you gave to the camera. Then press OK.

9: Now select the camera again by clicking the checkmark box, and press "Edit". Depending on the version of ConfigTool, this can also be a green circle with a pencil icon.

10: You will now see a window with several settings that you can adjust. Mode: Static / DHCP If you do not have network knowledge, we recommend enabling DHCP. You do this by clicking the circle. Then press OK. A green checkmark will now appear next to the camera. Is this not the case? Then check again the password you entered in Search Settings. Or check that the cabling is correctly connected. Note!: Save the IP address and the camera serial number! You need them to add the camera to an XVR, NVR or the DMSS app.
