What is included
Old camera footage does not necessarily mean that all cabling needs to be removed. In an analog system, we first examine the cameras, coax connections, power supply, and recorder. Then, we compare a suitable replacement with a transition to IP cameras. This way, it becomes clear which component limits image quality or operation and which investment is actually necessary.
Note the model numbers of the recorder and cameras and see how they are connected. Analog systems can support different signal types. Therefore, a new camera with the same connection will not work automatically. We also assess cable damage, poor power supply, and connectors that can themselves cause part of the image problem.
If cables and connections are in good condition, a supported solution using coax can be an option. In this case, we will check which resolutions and features the chosen recorder can support. It is not a guarantee that every old cable can carry a modern image problem without issue. We test the path before reuse is included in the final plan.
New camera zones, smart detection, or another network architecture can make an IP system attractive. We compare the desired features and total installation, including cabling and power supply. The transition doesn't have to be driven solely by resolution: better access, management, and a logical layout can be at least as important.
Discuss before any work or recording should be retained. Transferring a disk to another recorder can make existing data unusable or require a formatting step. Therefore, we make agreements regarding retention, access, and the planned interruption. After the conversion, we test each camera, new recordings, and review them via the agreed-upon devices.

Clear answers
Not always. We assess cable condition and supported equipment. Reuse is an option if the route and desired functions are suitable for that purpose.
That depends on explicit IP support and capacity of the record model. The presence of a network connection alone does not prove that.
We will discuss that beforehand. Old images must be exported if necessary before a recorder or disk is replaced or reconfigured.
