An HDCVI camera sends a different type of video signal than an IP camera. Existing coax can therefore be relevant for replacement, but reuse depends on the complete combination of camera, recorder, connections and power supply.
Note the type numbers and the supported input signals and resolutions. A BNC connection does not on its own indicate which image formats a recorder can process. Check whether the camera has an adjustable output and which option belongs to the recorder. Only change a signal setting after the current configuration has been recorded.
Let the existing route, connectors, and any intermediate connections be inspected. Indicate whether there has been any earlier failure, scratches, or damage. The fact that the old camera still produced images does not in any way prove that every new setting works reliably on the same trajectory.
Some combinations support power via coax; others use a separate power supply. Do not assume one method for all HDCVI devices. Have the power specifications and existing connection reviewed before connecting components together.
Audio, control, and any lighting functions must be explicitly supported in the chosen combination. Agree on which functions are part of the assignment. A clear live image does not prove that the desired audio or camera settings are also available via the recorder.
Check by looking back with the set image quality and compare the night image at the final position. Note the channel and the signal setting used. This way, when switching to a later camera or recorder, it will be clear which combination worked earlier.
Not as a regular IP camera. The different signal and power systems require appropriate equipment.
