When building a new house, you can often bring cable routes with you before ceilings and walls are closed. The camera model doesn't need to be fixed yet, but the purpose of each connection does. A bare cable in the wrong place remains inconvenient even after delivery.
Mark the front door, rear, driveway, and other relevant entrances. Then view the facade views: a connection may appear logical on paper while an overhang obstructs the viewing direction. Not only provide the builder with the number of points, but also the intended area that each point should demonstrate.
Discuss with the installer where the pipes start and end, how they remain accessible, and who will install the final cables. Have the chosen pipe checked to be usable for the planned route. Keep drawings and photos before sealing, so that a technician during installation knows what is behind the finish.
A recorder requires more than just a free corner. The network connection, power supply, accessibility for maintenance, and the environment around the device are part of the design. Discuss whether you want to use a monitor locally. This prevents all cables from ending up in a location that proves to be difficult to reach.
Document who is pulling cables, who is finishing outdoor points, and who is configuring cameras. A structural preparation is not the same as a working camera system. When transferring the property, ask which connections have actually been inspected and which components still need to be finished by the camera installer.
A fence, carport, or garden plan can change the original image. Therefore, check the positions when those components are known. Test the recording and operation at the final installation; do not consider the presence of a cable as proof that the entire system is ready.
