What is included
You can purchase a camera system that records locally without a mandatory subscription for that recording. This means you choose purchase and installation in advance, instead of a monthly package. That does not mean that every component is free forever. We clarify which features are included with the equipment and which services, connections or cloud options are paid separately.
A local recorder can store the footage on an built-in disk. No cloud subscription is required for that recording process. However, you will need power and, if necessary, an existing internet connection. Equipment, hard drives, and maintenance incur costs. We outline those differences so you can fairly compare a purchase to a monthly package.
During an internet outage, local recording can continue to work if the camera, network, and recorder still have power. Viewing from another location may then be interrupted. For app usage, we check which manufacturer service and features the chosen system uses. Paid extras are specified in advance; we do not promise lifelong availability of external services.
When all images are stored exclusively on one device, they are dependent on that device. Therefore, we discuss placement, access, and potentially additional storage of important fragments. A cloud backup can be an option, but it is not an automatically free component. The correct choice depends on which events you want to preserve and who manages the images.
Compare the same period and the same content: equipment, installation, storage, maintenance and support. When purchasing, you pay more upfront and arrange service separately. A subscription may include other services. You receive an offer in which ownership, included features and any recurring costs are clearly separated.
