During painting or facade restoration, a camera may get in the way. Remembering only where it was mounted is insufficient for a proper reinstallation. Also record the image, cable routing, and operation before disassembly.
Photograph the camera and bracket from the outside and keep a screen screenshot of the frame. Note the camera channel and the specific settings associated with the location. Labels help with multiple cameras to return parts to their correct position after maintenance.
Determine who disconnects the camera and how cable ends are protected during the work. A loose connection should not accidentally fall between painting or cleaning work. Also note where the camera, bracket, and small parts are stored.
Note which zones are temporarily not being recorded and discuss whether a temporary provision is needed. Save relevant old recordings beforehand. Coordinate the time of reinstallation with the facade installer, so that the camera is not mounted on an unfinished part too early.
After insulation, new cladding or repair, the old mounting cannot be simply reused without further work. Review the ground, conduits, and installation again. Changed exterior lighting or another facade color may also be a reason to check the night vision again.
Set the frame to the agreed target and test a new recording. Compare the channels, timing, and desired alerts. Save a new photo of the connection and note when the recording was available again. This way, you can conclude exterior maintenance with a controlled camera system.
