A beeping recorder or storage warning requires control over the recordings, not just to play back the sound. The alert may mean something different than a full disk. Note the exact text and what still works.
Photograph the storage status and note the time the warning appeared. Indicate whether it started after a power outage, a move, or a disk switch. Check how many disks the system expects and how many it shows. Use the recorder's model number when requesting assistance.
Watch a fragment from a few minutes ago on various channels. Live footage can continue to work while storage is lacking. Note which cameras recently have footage available and which gaps you see. Save any remaining incident images when that is possible without additional risks.
A factory reset, initialization, or formatting changes the initial state and can make data unusable. Do not perform those actions solely to get rid of an error message. First determine whether it is a recognition, configuration, connection, or defective part issue.
A technician can determine which follow-up step is appropriate based on the recorder status. Please indicate in advance whether old recordings are necessary. If data recovery is important, this should be discussed separately before replacement or further writing operations. A standard repair order does not guarantee that damaged recordings can be restored.
