The entrance to a store may require different recording hours than the goods room. A schedule per camera channel allows for this distinction if the recorder supports that function. Start with a weekly overview of the desired recording, before copying the settings.
Note for each camera which days and between what times recordings are needed. Also describe deviations such as a shopping evening or a delivery before opening time. Use the names that are on the recorder, so that channel numbers are not mixed up. Keep this overview with the installation data.
A time interval indicates when a recording method may be active. Continuous recording and recording after an event have different effects. In event recording, both the time interval and the corresponding detection must match the goal. Only drawing a movement zone does not yet prove that the recorder is also recording during that time interval.
Many recorders offer the ability to copy settings to other days or channels. Check the exceptions again after copying. For example, a camera on a staff door may have different hours than the entrance. Record which channels you have changed and take a screenshot of the final weekly overview.
Not only check an recording in the middle of the day. Also choose a time around the beginning or end of a set time period and look for it again. Check if the recorder's time is correct. If the time does not match reality, the schedule may start at a different time than intended.
