What is included
Cameras get all the attention, but the network underneath determines whether they will continue to work reliably. A switch with insufficient power causes cameras to restart as soon as night vision turns on. Cameras on the same network as your checkout or administration are an unnecessary risk. With Reyee equipment, we lay a foundation that provides enough power, separates traffic, and is centrally managed.
A camera is a computer with a network card. If it is on the same network as your administration, then every leak in the camera is a route to the rest. By placing cameras in a separate segment, you keep the traffic separated and also prevent camera images from slowing down your normal internet connection.
In camera systems, bandwidth rarely fails, but PoE power does. A switch that can power eight cameras on paper may fail once all cameras turn on their infrared lighting simultaneously. Therefore, we calculate the total power based on the worst case scenario, not the average.
