A camera in a spare room should technically and operationally fit into the existing system.
What you calculate or measure
Map the route, distance, building usage, local network points, and desired images. Determine whether the existing NVR can still accommodate the additional cameras.
The intervention that fits
Choose a wired, fiber optic or wireless connection based on the environment and make camera, switch and recorder part of one documentation plan.
Proof that it works
Test local and from the main building live footage, view back and recovery after a power outage. Check that the camera has a recognizable name and channel location.
