A ceiling bracket is a construction that allows a monitor to be hung from the ceiling at different heights (depending on the length of the tube), creating a suspended installation and saving space on the floor or wall. It is ideal for environments such as conference rooms, auditoriums, or exhibitions.
To be sure that a monitor arm is compatible with a monitor, it is important to check two important points:
– VESA compatibility: VESA is the standard that defines the distance (in millimeters) between the mounting holes on the back of the monitor and the bracket. With this type of bracket (metal components that are attached to the monitor and rest on another part of the bracket), the VESA value of the bracket can be higher than that of the monitor, but never lower, because the pins allow the distance to be adjusted both horizontally and vertically.
Example: If the VESA size of the monitor is 500×300 mm and that of the standard 600×400 mm, they are compatible because the pins can be set horizontally at the correct distance and the multiple holes in the pins can be used to adjust them vertically.
- Capacity: The standard must be able to carry the weight of the monitor without exceeding the maximum capacity.
For example: if the monitor weighs 14 kg and the standard can carry a maximum of 12 kg, they are not compatible. If the standard can carry a maximum of 18 kg, they are compatible.
