What is included
Renting, buying on lease, and purchasing seem similar, but the difference lies in what you retain at the end. With renting, the supplier's equipment remains yours. With buying on lease, you pay in installments and become the owner of the system after the final installment. For entrepreneurs who don't want to invest in one lump sum but still want the system as an asset, that is often the logical intermediate form.
If you choose rent, you pay for use and the supplier provides replacement in case of defects. If you choose purchase, you build ownership with each installment and the system is then yours, including the freedom to move it or expand it. Buying is more cost-effective over the entire journey, but it requires the full amount upfront.
Rent-purchase is mainly suitable for entrepreneurs with their own property or a long-term rental agreement: you stay there, so ownership is meaningful. How the terms are processed in your records varies depending on the situation; discuss this with your accountant before signing.
