What is included
Hikvision is the brand you'll find in most professional installations, and that's mainly because of the wide range of its offerings. From a compact turret for a row house to a PTZ that searches for an entire business park: it fits on the same recorder and in the same app. On this page, you'll read which lines there are, what they technically mean, and in which situations they are worth the effort.
The power lies in the combination of image quality and availability. You can still order the same series years later, which is very valuable when expanding. ColorVu cameras also retain color at night, allowing you to recognize your clothing and vehicles instead of just seeing movement. AcuSense filters out rain, branches, and cats from your notifications.
Choose more channels for your recorder than you need today; expanding it is then a matter of adding more units. Set the cameras on a separate network segment and change the default activation password. Mixing with other brands is possible, but you often lose the smart features that really make the difference.

Clear answers
For homes, we usually choose ColorVu-turrets with AcuSense on a compact NVR. This provides color vision in the dark and alerts that only apply to people or vehicles.
Technically, it can often be done via ONVIF, but smart features and app integration don't always work that way. We recommend sticking to one brand per recorder.
Yes. Recording to the recorder runs locally without internet. Only watching live and receiving notifications remotely require a connection.
