Setting up Dahua detection begins with a detectable event: someone passes a border or enters an area. The camera must be able to distinguish that event in the correct location. Then you link the detection to the desired recording or alert; a marked line alone is not yet a working follow‑up.
Choose a point where a person is sufficiently visible before the boundary is crossed. A line directly along the image border or behind an open door is difficult to judge. Use a line for a passage and investigate a area rule when the goal is actually entering a zone. The names and available rules vary per device.
Check whether the camera recognizes the event or whether the recorder is performing the analysis. Note the model and firmware of both devices. Available analysis features and channel capacity are not a fixed characteristic of the brand as a whole. Activate only features that are supported in this combination; multiple enabled analysis types may have dependencies.
Check the active schedule, the associated recording channels, and the intended recipient. Perform a passage and first check whether an event has been recorded. Then locate the recording and finally check the phone notification. This way, you can see which part of the chain a missing notification occurs.
Walk across the border in both directions, follow a route right next to it, and repeat the test in darkness. Record the time and result for each test. For unwanted alerts, first change one setting or the position of the rule and compare again. Reducing all sensitivity can also cause the desired passage to disappear.
An event rule describes a specific situation, such as a border crossing. Check which analysis the model actually supports; do not use the terms as proof of the same operation.
The event, recording link, and notification have separate settings. Check the registered passage and then follow the notification chain to the user.
