In exterior wall insulation, the visible finish layer does not lie directly on the load-bearing wall. A mounting bracket must match that construction. Therefore, first assess which layers are present and which mounting system is suitable for the camera and bracket.
Search for information about insulation thickness, finish, and underlying substrate. Photos of the construction can be helpful, but do not replace an assessment of unknown layers. When requesting, also send the weight and type of camera and bracket. This can help choose an appropriate mounting.
There are mounting systems for insulated facades, including thermally separated solutions. Which configuration suits you depends on the substrate, construction, and load. A product name alone is not a mounting recommendation. Have the chosen combination substantiated based on the manufacturer's data.
The cable opening also goes through the facade finish. Agree on how it will be sealed and who is responsible for it. Do not leave the connection ending in an unprotected opening behind the camera. A neat exterior does not prove that the underlying conduit has been properly finished.
A bracket should not be adjusted to fit by arbitrarily tightening it if the underlying surface is unsuitable for this purpose. Allow irregularities and distance from the support structure to be pre-evaluated. Discuss a different position if the desired location does not allow for responsible mounting.
Record which mounting system, which position, and which conduit were used. Add photos before closing the connection box. When replacing the camera, it can then be assessed whether the new load still fits the existing mounting.
That is not an appropriate solution without assessment. mounting must fit all existing layers and the load.
That must be checked again, including the bracket and distance to the ground.
