A camera for outdoor use does not automatically waterproof a loose plug next to it. The connection, cable routing, and any mounting box together form the finish. Use the parts and procedure that match the camera model and location.
Check whether the camera requires a sealing set, ring, or suitable connector box. Verify that all parts are present before the connector is installed. A missing ring or an incorrectly fitted cable can interrupt the intended sealing, even if the outside looks neat.
Observe how the cable runs to the camera and where rainwater may pass by. Complete the routing and passage according to the installation instructions. Any random layer of tape around a plug does not provide demonstrable mounting that the connection is suitable for outdoor conditions.
Determine where connectors are stored and how the cable enters. Consider the available space and accessibility for maintenance. A box should not only conceal the connection; it must also be suitable for the chosen position and environment when combined with the conduits.
If there are discolorations, moisture stains, or recurring malfunctions on the connector, have it inspected before the connection is reconnected. A better finish does not automatically make damaged contact parts reliable. Discuss whether the connector, cable part, or other components need to be replaced.
Take a photo of the connection when delivering it before it is closed. Check cable security, data, power, and recording. Store the type of box and sealing set with the model data, so that someone during later maintenance can correctly restore the original protection.
You should not assume that without control. Follow the required assembly and sealing for the connection.
